Establish minimum exit values when you buy. If your car is worth more when you sell, you keep the full upside.
The uncertainty built into ownership
You might reasonably expect a $100,000 vehicle to be worth $68,000 two years from now. Then a new model arrives, an incentive changes, or the used-car market softens — and it's worth $45,000 or less.
Ordinary depreciation, you can plan for. It's the extraordinary kind — the drop nobody saw coming at the dealership — that ownership leaves entirely on you.
A lease protects against that, but only if you commit up front to exactly when you'll walk away. TermCar was built to separate those two decisions: how long you keep the car, and how much risk you carry.
A history of solving the same problem
Each major innovation in car ownership gave drivers more access, flexibility, or certainty. TermCar brings those advantages together for the first time.
How it works
Any eligible new or used vehicle, through a participating dealer. Pay cash or finance through any lender.
Minimum values are established for multiple points during your protection period — before you take delivery.
Own the car with full flexibility. Decide later when — or whether — to sell it.
If the market value is higher, keep it and sell normally. If it's lower, use your guaranteed TermCar value instead.
The best of every option
Buying, renting, and leasing each solve part of the problem. TermCar is built to solve all of it.

Here's the math
The protection price reflects the exit values you choose at purchase. The value that applies depends on when you decide to sell.
1. Choose your protection level — more protection carries a higher price.
2. At the middle level, Year Two, your guaranteed value is $66,000. Here's what happens at three different outcomes.
How you actually get that number: if the market value is below your floor, you don't negotiate or file a claim — a designated purchaser, backed by your licensed carrier, buys the car from you at your guaranteed value, the same way a trade-in works. If it's above your floor, you just sell it normally and keep the difference.
Illustrative only. Actual prices, values, and availability are subject to eligibility, vehicle condition, mileage, fees, and other terms.
Why buyers ask for this
Backed, not just promised
TermCar isn't a dealer handshake or an informal buyback. Every contract is designed to be backed from day one by a company actually licensed to stand behind it.
Your minimum values, term, and condition requirements are written into your agreement at purchase — not decided later.
When you're ready to sell, your car's market value is measured against an independent, published valuation source — not a single dealer's offer.
You pay one price at purchase. TermCar never collects monthly payments from you, and it has no bearing on your financing.
Questions
No. You can pay cash or finance through any lender you choose. TermCar has no involvement in your loan.
Then TermCar simply doesn't come into play — you sell the car normally and keep every dollar. It only matters if the market falls below your floor.
Yes. Your guaranteed value assumes normal wear and a stated mileage range, disclosed to you at purchase — similar to how excess mileage and wear are handled at the end of a lease.
You contact the administrator before selling. Your vehicle is appraised against the independent valuation source, and if it's below your floor, the designated purchaser — backed by your licensed carrier — buys the car from you at your guaranteed value. It's handled like a trade-in, not a claim.
An independent, published valuation source, agreed to in your contract in advance — not a single dealer's trade-in quote.
Yes, if you want to — it's entirely your choice. You already know your guaranteed floor going in, so you can list it, trade it in, or sell it privately with nothing to lose: if you get more than your floor, keep the difference. If you don't get an offer you like, you're not stuck with it — you can still go to the administrator instead. At that point your payout is based on the independent valuation source in your contract, not on whatever offer you happened to receive, so a single lowball quote can't be used to force a payout, and it can't cost you one either.
